Watch: IDF conducts combined drill of Iron Dome, Patriot air defense systems
“The Israel Air Force successfully concluded a period of training and experiments, in parallel to operational readiness and high alertness to defend the skies of Israel,” the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said in a statement.
The drill, which saw the interception of several live missiles and included other targets such as unmanned aerial vehicles, had been subjected to the IDF censor until Wednesday evening.
“Nowhere else in the world do you fire so many live missiles in one night during a drill,” a senior officer said. “We are challenging ourselves.”
“Our enemy is learning, and is definitely getting better and is getting more challenging… but so are we,” he added.
Two foreign military delegations visited the exercise. “The delegations came to watch the exercise and to study its results. The delegations will take part in a panel discussion that will focus on professional matters and inter-military cooperation,” the IDF said.
