BREAKING: A car bomb exploded at a checkpoint on the outskirts of the Syrian town of al-Rai near the Bab al-Salameh border crossing with Turkey.

Locals reported that there are three policemen and four civilians wounded, indicating that they were taken to a hospital in Turkey for treatment.

No terror group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.

Killis Province Governor Recep Soyturk said that “the attack is not directed against Turkey. It is addressed to the Free Syrian Army”.

The town of al-Rai is in an area under the control of Turkey-backed rebels and was seized from ISIS terrorists in Ankara’s “Euphrates Shield” operation in 2016. b
