US: Jewish man shot 4 times from passing car outside synagogue in North Miami Beach

A 58-year-old Orthodox Jewish man was shot four times in a drive-by shooting attack Sunday afternoon as he walked outside the Young Israel of North Miami Beach synagogue waiting for Mincha, the afternoon prayer service.

The victim, identified as Yosef Noach, was shot around 7 pm from a passing car while he walked outside the synagogue located at 10th Ave near 171st Street.

A shooter fired six shots, and the victim was hit in the leg four times. He was treated on the scene by a volunteer of Hatzolah. He is in stable condition at a local hospital.

Police in North Miami Beach Police are looking for a dark-colored Camaro or Impala.

According to local media, Police detectives are investigating the shooting attack as a ‘possible’ antisemitic hate crime.

Jewish Agency Chairman Isaac Herzog said he has been personally in touch with community leaders and believes it is a case of antisemitism.
