US: Convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein committed suicide in his jail cell
BREAKING: Convicted billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, 66, has committed suicide in his Manhattan jail cell early Saturday morning, two weeks after he was placed on suicide watch.
According to sources, Epstein hanged himself. He was transported in cardiac arrest at 6:39 a.m. from Metropolitan Correctional Center to New York Downtown Hospital.
The news comes after a slew of once-sealed documents named prominent politicians (who denied the accusations) in connection with the Epstein scandal.
The 66-year-old pedophile was also hospitalized in July after he was found unresponsive in what appeared to be a suicide attempt.
He was being held without bail at the Metropolitan Correctional Center awaiting trial on charges of child sex-trafficking. He pleaded not guilty to the charges, and a judge said he wouldn’t face trial before June 2020.
He was accused of arranging to have sex with girls as young as age 14 in the early 2000s at Epstein’s residences in Manhattan and Florida and faced up to 45 years in prison if convicted.
Former Prime Minister Ehud Barak who is now trying to make a comeback in Israeli politics had long business ties to Epstein.
Barak was caught on camera entering the Manhattan townhouse of Jeffery Epstein with his face hidden, on the same day that a large group of women were seen entering the sex offender’s home.
