US: 9 people murdered, gunman eliminated in shooting attack at a bar in Dayton, Ohio
BREAKING: At least nine people were murdered and 27 others were wounded by a gunman who opened fire at a bar in Dayton, Ohio, hours after the massacre at a Walmart in Texas.
The shooting began around 1:20 a.m. Sunday, in the area of East 5th Street in the Oregon District.
Reports indicate that the shooter was eliminated by responding officers.
Police said there was only one shooter.
There was a first report that may have been more than one perpetrator involved in the attack. Some reports said the police were looking for a man who wore a mask and was armed with a rifle during the shooting, that may have left the area in a dark-colored Jeep.
Local hospitals were alerted that several patients with gunshot injuries would be arriving. According to reports, at least seven of the victims have died.
Miami Valley Hospital spokesperson Terrea Little confirms they have received 16 victims from the mass shooting. They are unable to confirm the extent of injuries. Unknown ages or genders.
“He tried to go into the bar but did not make it through the door. Someone took the gun from him and he got shot and is dead,” an eyewitness said.

The shooter was wearing body armor and had high-capacity magazines, Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley said. Officers got to the shooter in under a minute, she added.

The shooting in Dayton comes hours after a gunman murdered 20 people at a Walmart in El Paso.
