UK: Muslim Mayor of London OKs Trump balloon to fly over Parliament during presidential visit
A giant balloon depicting Donald Trump as an angry, orange baby will fly near Parliament during the US president’s visit to the UK next week.
Muslim mayor of London Sadiq Khan today granted permission for the 20ft (6 meters) inflatable, dubbed ‘Trump Baby’.
It will fly above Parliament Square Gardens for two hours on the morning of Friday July 13.
In a statement, a spokesperson for the mayor said Khan “supports the right to peaceful protest and understands that this can take many different forms.”
Huge protests are expected in London for the first full day of President Trump’s visit, which will begin next Thursday night when he flies in from the Nato summit in Brussels.
“Trump balloon to fly over Parliament during visit of the 45th President of the United States.
Sadiq Khan THINKS he is humiliating Trump.
In truth, he humiliates Britain on the world stage. Khan makes a mockery of our capital and the country decent Brits used to call home”, British journalist Katie Hopkins wrote on Twitter.
