UK: Counter-terrorism operation underway after 2 bombs found in a London apartment
Two bombs have been found in a disused apartment in north-west London, sparking a large counter-terrorism operation.
The explosive devices were found at an apartment in Craven Park, Harlesden, this morning.
The apartment was evacuated and the area cordoned off while detectives from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command launched an investigation.
The two devices were subsequently made safe and are now undergoing further forensic examination.
Chief Superintendent Simon Rose called on the public to come forward with any information.
Detectives from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command are leading the investigation, a police statement said.
Officers are keeping an open mind as to how or why the devices came to be there, police said. No arrests have been made and inquiries continue.
