Terror victim Yotam Ovadia laid to rest in Jerusalem

Yotam Ovadia (31), who was murdered by a Muslim terrorist in Thursday’s stabbing attack in the Jewish community of Adam, has been laid to rest in Jerusalem.

Yotam is survived by a wife and two young children: 2-year-old Harel and 7-month-old Itai.

HEARTBREAKIN

 

A 17-year-old Muslim terrorist infiltrated the Jewish community and brutally stabbed passersby on Thursday evening.

A 58-year-old man who was left in moderate condition and a 41-year-old man was left in light condition.

He also stabbed Ovadia several times, who succumbed to his wounds overnight while being treated in the Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem’s Mount Scopus.

Yotam was on his way to his parents’ house to collect items he bought for a romantic dinner he had prepared to surprise his wife to celebrate the Jewish holiday of Tu B’Av—similar to Valentine’s Day, when he was stabbed by the Muslim terrorist.

“Our hearts break at the sound of your little son calling ‘daddy, daddy.’ Thank you for what you were for your beloved children and for you beloved wife, Tal,” said Ovadia’s father-in-law, Yehuda Adari at the funeral that got underway at 1pm.

Members of Knesset, senior military officials, Jerusalem mayor Nir Barakat and Tourism Minister Yariv Levin, attended the funeral, in addition to hundreds of people.

At the funeral, Levin blamed the Palestinian Authority for the attack: “Your life was taken for one reason only, because you are Jewish. I have nothing to say to comfort you but our enemies should know that our spirit shall not break. The lowly terrorist will not achieve his goals.”

IDF, the Shin Bet and Border Police operated overnight in Kubar, the Arab village where the Muslim terrorist resided.

Forces interrogated his family and mapped out his house in preparation for its demolition.

They took four Muslim terrorists for further investigation. The family’s permits were confiscated and residents were forbidden from leaving for work.

Additional forces blocked the entrance to the terror nest of Nabi Saleh,  3.5 kilometers northwest of Kubar.

Some 150 Muslim terrorists rioted, threw rocks and firebombs and burned tires during the counter-terrorism operation.

Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman said he had instructed the Civil Administration to act towards the authorization of 400 housing units in the Jewish community of Adam, where the terror attack took place.
