Terror attack thwarted: 2 Muslim terrorists planning serious, imminent terror attack arrested

BREAKING – Cleared for publication: In a joint operation of the Shin Bet, the IDF and the Israel Police, Muslim terrorists Zakariya Zubeidi and Tarek Barguth were arrested over a serious, imminent terror attack.

According to Arab reports, security forces surrounded a house in the north of Ramallah and called Zubeidi out. He came out with his hands raised, offering no resistance.

Together with arch-terrorist Zakariya Zubeidi, the Shin Bet arrested Tarek Barguth and seized his car. Barguth, a resident of East Jerusalem with an Israeli identity card, is frequently hired to represent terrorists.

The terrorists were turned over to security agencies for further investigation.

During the Second Intifada, Zubeidi served as the commander of the Jenin region of Fatah’s armed wing, the al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades. He was also one of the chief architects of several terror attacks during the early 2000s.

He managed to evade Israeli law enforcement for years but was offered amnesty in 2007 if he would submit his weapons and forego terrorism. Zubeidi’s amnesty was revoked in December 2011 without elaboration, and he returned to the most-wanted list.

While he was wanted for terrorism, Zubeidi began a relationship with an Israeli left-wing activist converted to Islam, Tali Fahima, in 2004. Fahima moved into Zubeidi’s Jenin home in order to act as a human shield and prevent Israel from conducting an airstrike to kill him. She was later arrested and convicted of assisting an enemy in wartime.
