Syria: Israeli fighter jets target Iranian weapons warehouses near Damascus
BREAKING: Israeli fighter jets allegedly targeted weapons warehouses belonging to the Iranian IRGC terror group.
According to Arab reports, one of the warehouses was located near Damascus International Airport and a second warehouse southwest of Damascus, in the Saboura area.
According to reports, Israel used extra artillery rockets launched from the Golan in order to hit several sensitive targets.
Syria Air Defense Force’s Pantsir S1/2 SAM systems didn’t manage to shoot them down. However, Syrian state tv reported that Syrian air defenses targeted projectiles coming from Israel and brought some of them down.
Residents in Damascus said they heard several loud blasts shortly before a tv news bulletin that reported the incident.
Prime Minister Netanyahu has said Israel had carried out “hundreds” of attacks over the past few years of Syria’s war to curtail Iran and its ally Hezbollah.
Iran has threatened Israel it would respond if it continued attacking targets in Syria and repeatedly said its military presence in Syria is at the invitation of the Assad’s dictatorship and it has no plans to withdraw.
