Spain: 2 trains evacuated in Barcelona’s main station over a bomb scare

BREAKING: Police in Barcelona say they have evacuated two train stations in Barcelona and Madrid and conducted checks for explosives amid fears a woman was traveling with a bomb.

Police cleared Barcelona-Sants when a security scanner flagged up a suspicious object in a suitcase at 8 am local time. They also shut platforms at Madrid Atocha station.

A woman traveling from Barcelona was searched when she got off her train at Madrid and given the all-clear, according to reports.

A large key ring or belt buckle in her suitcase was mistaken for a hand-grenade, sources said.
