Somalia: At least 100 people murdered by Muslim terrorists in suicide truck bombing in Mogadishu

At least 100 people, including many students and foreigners, were murdered by Muslim terrorists in a truck bomb attack during morning rush hour in Somalia’s capital.

The terror attack took place at a checkpoint at a busy intersection in Mogadishu.

Most of those murdered were university and other students returning to class.

Police said the terrorists targeted a tax collection center during the morning rush hour as Somalia returned to work after its weekend. A large black plume of smoke rose above the capital.

No terror group has yet claimed responsibility for the bomb but al-Shabab militants have often carried out attacks there.

Mogadishu is regularly targeted by al-Qaeda-linked al-Shabaab terrorists attempting to dislodge a Western-backed government protected by African Union-mandated peacekeepers.

Al-Shabab was forced out of the capital in 2011 but still controls areas of the country.
