Soldier murdered and another wounded in Sha’ar Binyamin terror attack

Two 14-year-old Arab terrorists carried out a stabbing attack Thursday afternoon in the Sha’ar Binyamin Industrial Zone north of Jerusalem. 21-year-old Sergeant Tuvia Yanai Weissman was murdered and a 36-year-old Israeli man was moderately wounded.

The two teen-terrorists entered a Rami Levi supermarket and stabbed two Israelis. Shoppers there pushed the terrorists back with wagons. A citizen at the scene then shot them, seriously wounding them and preventing a more serious attack.

Weismann, a resident of Ma’ale Mikhmas in the Binyamin region of Samaria, was married and was the father of a 4-month-old baby. He was a soldier in the 50th Battalion of the Nahal Brigade. When he was murdered he was wearing civilian clothes. He leaves behind his parents and three brothers.

bnbnWitnesses say that the terrorists were hanging around the area for about 40 minutes prior to attacking. The terrorists, Umar Rimawi and Iham Sabah are from Beitunia near Ramallah.

The citizen who shot the terrorists recounted that he “entered the store and heard screams. I spotted one of the terrorists and shot him. There were soldiers and citizens there.”

The 36-year-old was sent to Hadassa Medical Center and Weissman was sent to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem, where he died of his wounds.
