Shin Bet uncovers major Hevron-based Hamas women’s cell

Cleared for publication: The Shin Bet in cooperation with the IDF and the Israel Police uncovered in recent weeks a major Hamas terrorist cell in the city of Hevron. Among the cell members, a large number of female Hamas terrorists who maintained secret contact with the Hamas leadership in Gaza and abroad.

The cell includes Dina Karmi, the wife of the Muslim terrorist who murdered four people, including a pregnant woman, near the Jewish community of Kiryat Arba in 2010.

The Shin Bet has arrested the members of the cell and indictments have been submitted to Judea Military Court.

The terror cell activities included messages and instructions between terrorists, transfer of funds to finance terror activities and the coordination of terror activities.

The Shin Bet investigation revealed that the terrorist cell promoted Hamas activity in Hevron, including recruitment of Muslim terrorists, coordination of terror activities in the mosques, preaching, propaganda and incitement, assistance to prisoners’ families, etc.

Hamas also attempted to take control of the Hevron municipality and various charities in the city.

The exposure of the infrastructure proves once again that Hamas terror group in Gaza and abroad is directing terror activities in Judea and Samaria.
