Rocket barrage fired at Southern Israel after IDF strikes car of Hamas firebomb-launcher terrorist in Gaza
Hamas terrorists in Gaza fired at least 13 rockets at Israel, beginning at 2:15 am Wednesday morning. Three of the rockets were intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system, and at least three Hamas terror positions in Gaza were bombed by the IDF.
The Iron Dome intercepted at least three rockets, two of them over the city of Sderot.
Rockets were fired at civilian communities in the Eshkol, Sha’ar HaNegev, Sdot Negev and Ashkelon Coastal Regional Council districts. Most of them landed in open areas. No injuries reported.
Throughout the day on Tuesday, Muslim terrorists in Gaza launched firebombs attached to balloons into southern Israel, sparking several fires in communities near the border.
In response, the IDF launched a number of strikes in Gaza shortly after 1 am, targeting a car that belonged to a senior Hamas terrorist heavily involved in the firebomb attacks. The car was parked near a Sharia Court in the Nuseirat neighborhood of Gaza.
The IDF used aircraft and a tank to strike two Hamas positions in northern Gaza.
“The Hamas terror organization will bear the consequences for facilitating terror and instability”, the IDF said in a statement.
