PM Netanyahu thanks US Ambassador Nikki Haley
Following the resignation of US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu thanked Tuesday the American ambassador for her support.
“I thank Ambassador Nikki Haley, who led an uncompromising fight against the hypocrisy of the United Nations for the truth and justice of our country. I wish her the best,” the prime minister stated.
President Trump announced the departure from the Oval Office where he said that she ‘has been very special to me’ and ‘is a fantastic person’ who has done exemplary work.
‘She’s done a fantastic job, and we’ve done a fantastic job together,’ he said, citing the progress toward a nuclear deal with North Korea. ‘We’re all happy for you in one way, but we hate to lose [you].’
Haley successfully advocated aid cuts to nations and organizations at the UN that vote against US interests and campaigned against a General Assembly vote last year condemning the Trump administration for its recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, vowing to “take names” of those who supported it.
“You look at the anti-Israel bias, and the strength and courage that the president showed in moving the embassy– and showing the world we will move our embassy where we want,” she said.
