Netherlands 2 Muslim terrorists arrested for planning a Christmas massacre

The Dutch anti-terrorism unit arrested on Monday two Muslim terrorists, aged 20 and 34, who were planning a terrorist attack in the Netherlands.

Dutch prosecutors said the terrorists were preparing a terror attack with “bomb vests or one or more car bombs” in the Netherlands.

It was not immediately clear what the pair’s target was, but they were plotting to carry out a massacre in ‘late December’.

Police conducting a raid on one of the terrorist’s houses seized a dagger, a throwing axe, a mobile phone and computer chips in a hidden space, though no explosives were found, according to a prosecutors’ statement.

Police launched an investigation into the two Muslim terrorists in October after information from the General Intelligence and Security Services suggested that “the suspects intended to carry out a jihadist attack … They were said to be planning to use explosives and undergo training to use them.”

Evidence leading to the arrests came primarily from police informants, the prosecutors’ statement said.
