Mother and wife of Muslim terrorists behind Ofra, Givat Assaf attacks arrested for failing to prevent murder
The IDF on Monday night arrested the mother of three brother-terrorists from the Barghouti clan of Muslim jihadists who committed the shooting attacks at Ofra and Givat Assaf junctions in which two IDF soldiers and a 3-day-old baby were murdered.
Suheir Barghouti, the jihadi mother of Mohammed, Assem and Salah Barghouti, and the wife of one of the terrorists were arrested for failing to prevent the terror attacks.
Violent Muslim riots broke out during the arrests in the terror nest of Kobar near Ramallah, with Muslim terrorists throwing rocks and firebombs at IDF troops.
Two combat soldiers, Sgt. Yossi Cohen and Staff Sgt. Yovel Mor-Yosef were murdered and two others were wounded in the Givat Assaf terror attack.
A week earlier, Muslim terrorists attempted to murder Israelis, including a pregnant woman, in a drive-by shooting attack near Ofra Junction. A 7-month baby born prematurely died after three days of efforts by doctors to save his life.
Assem’s brother, Salah, who carried out the Ofra attack, was shot and eliminated by security forces during an attempt to arrest him later same week.
Their 17-year-old brother Mohammed was arrested for involvement in the terror attacks.
Assem Barghouti was arrested in the Arab village of Abu Shukheidim, north of Ramallah, at the home of one of Barghouti’s accomplices following intensive intelligence collection by the Shin Bet, Border Police and IDF forces.
Assam Barghouti, originally from the terror nest of Kobar, comes from a Hamas-affiliated family of Jihadists. He had spent 11 years in Israeli prisons over terrorism-related crimes, including planning to abduct soldiers.
Assem, Salah and Mohammed are sons of Omar Barghouti, a senior Hamas terrorist who spent 28 years in Israeli prisons.
