More than 30 rockets fired from Gaza – IDF strikes 2 Hamas terror tunnels
More than 30 rockets were fired from Gaza at Israel overnight Saturday. Six were intercepted by Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system, and one exploded near an Israeli border community. No injuries were reported.
The IDF struck two Hamas terror tunnels and a terror training camp in Gaza, among other targets.
The strikes were conducted in response to the terror acts instigated during the violent riots along the security fence yesterday, in addition to the continuous arson attacks damaging Israeli land on a daily basis.
The IDF closed Zikim beach and issued new safety restrictions Saturday morning for Israeli communities near the Gaza border. Open-air gatherings are now restricted to 100 persons and 500 inside buildings.
On Saturday, Hamas terror group hailed a “new deterrence balance” that does not allow Israel “to determine the rules of the game”. Now they will carry out rocket attacks “much faster than expected”, the terror group threatened.
“Hamas is responsible for the events transpiring in Gaza and emanating from it and will bear the consequences for its actions”, the IDF said in a statement.
An IDF officer was moderately injured by a grenade that Muslim terrorists from Gaza threw at him during violent riots along the security fence.
Troops responded by firing towards the terrorists. A hit was identified. The officer was evacuated to Soroka Medical Center in Beer Sheva.
According to Arab reports, a 15-year-old Muslim terrorist was shot and eliminated east of Gaza City during the riots.
As every Friday after mosque, Muslim terrorists were rioting, burning tires, throwing rocks, launching firebomb-kites and balloons and attempting to infiltrate into Israel in order to murder Jews.
