Israeli intelligence helped confirm details of Soleimani's secret flight to Baghdad before US strike

Israeli intelligence was used in the US elimination of arch-terrorist Qassem Soleimani and PM Netanyahu was informed before the strike by Sec. Pompeo, according to NBC and NYT reports.

Informants at the Damascus international airport tipped off the CIA about the time Soleimani’s plane took off for Baghdad and it was Israel that confirmed the information provided to the Americans, NCB reported.

According to the NYT, Pompeo briefed Netanyahu ahead of the elimination. This makes Netanyahu the only leader in the region that was informed about the American mission.

Neither Soleimani nor the other Revolutionary Guard terrorists were registered on the passenger manifesto.

NBC quoted two sources who were “directly familiar” with the details of Soleimani’s elimination as saying that as the Cham Wings Airbus A320 carrying Soleimani landed in Baghdad, CIA agents on the ground confirmed the exact location of the plane and then US drones armed with four Hellfire missiles moved into position in the Iraqi airspace, fully controlled by American forces.

Soleimani’s convoy – one sedan carrying Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis (founder of Kata’ib Hezbollah terror group) and a minivan with their entourage – headed out and went up in flames after four missiles were launched from the drones.
