Israeli fighter jets bomb Hamas terror targets in response to rockets attack from Gaza

Israeli fighter jets carried out retaliatory strikes targeting Hamas terror infrastructure in northern Gaza after two rockets were launched by Muslim terrorists towards southern Israel.

“We are currently striking Hamas terror targets in Gaza”, the IDF tweeted.

According to Arab reports, so far the IDF bombed four Hamas terror targets including a naval site in Gaza City, another naval site west of Jabaliya and a Hamas observation post in Beit Lahiya.

“In response to the rockets fired from Gaza at Israeli civilians overnight, our forces struck Hamas terror targets in Gaza. Hamas will bear the consequences for attacks against Israeli civilians. We remain prepared for various scenarios”, the IDF tweeted Saturday morning.

Rocket sirens blared at around 2 a.m. in the major city of Beer Sheva and its vicinity. Two rockets fired from Gaza were intercepted by the Iron Dome Aerial Defense System.

First responders treated nine people. All of them were lightly wounded on their way to shelters or with trauma symptoms.

Shrapnel from an Iron Dome interceptor fell in an open area causing a small fire.

Earlier on Friday, hundreds of Muslim terrorists marched in Jabaliya, north of Gaza city, demanding the resumption of rocket attacks against Israeli civilians.

The latest escalation began on Tuesday when an Israeli strike eliminated a top Islamic Jihad terrorist, Baha Abu al-Ata and brought a wave of rocket fire into Israel in response.

Israel’s Iron Dome defense system intercepted 90 percent of more than 450 rockets launched by Muslim terrorists from Gaza.

Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza reported 34 terrorists eliminated and 111 wounded during two days of Israeli retaliatory strikes.

A ceasefire brokered by Egyptian and UN officials was agreed as the flare-up raised fears of a new all-out conflict.

Since the ceasefire went into effect, 15 rockets have been fired towards Israel.
