Israel Prison Service foils attempt to smuggle phones to jailed terrorists
The Israel Prison Service announced on Saturday that it had foiled an attempt to smuggle cellphones to Muslim terrorists doing time in the Nafha security prison in Mitzpe Ramon, southern Israel.
Two Israeli-Arabs from Lod were discovered attempting to smuggle the phones in via drone.
The suspects were arrested with several other cell phones in their possession, a large amount of cash, and intelligence information written on paper.
Security agencies are investigating whether terror groups are involved in the smuggling attempt.
The smugglers, one of whom under house arrest, had been taken in for questioning.
