IDF’s elite Duvdevan soldiers pulled Muslim terrorist who murdered their friend out of bed
Soldiers from the IDF’s elite Duvdevan unit raided the al-Am’ari neighborhood near Ramallah last Wednesday in the late morning hours and pulled the Muslim terrorist who murdered their friend, Staff Sgt. Ronen Lubarsky, out of bed.
A joint operation of the Shin Bet and IDF led to the arrest of the 32-year-old Muslim terrorist Islam Yusuf Abu Hamid, who threw a marble block at Sgt. Ronen Luvarsky z”l during a counter-terrorism operation near Ramallah on May 24th.
After fighting for his life for two days, the 20-year-old soldier eventually succumbed to his injuries.
Abu Hamid was imprisoned for a terror shooting attack in 2004, carried out as a member of Hamas terror group. He was released from prison in 2009.
Abu Hamid’s brothers are Hamas terrorists, and in the past have killed Israelis in terror attacks.
Additional details are under gag order.
“We had no doubt we would receive this mission. We feel satisfaction, like we’ve come full circle,” Deputy Duvdevan Commander Lt. Col. M. said.
“We raided the camp in broad daylight. It was complex because of the topography of the place and the violent population, which is awake at these hours,” Lt. Col. M. explained.
“We were required to demonstrate a high level of skill, to raise rifle barrels to the roofs, to be accurate. We had to get to the house he was hiding in quickly, to his room, and actually pull him out of the bed in which he slept. Then we left quickly, with no injuries among the soldiers. The terrorist was surprised and had no ability to resist or try to run,” the deputy Duvdevan commander added.
PM Netanyahu: “Several weeks ago an IDF Duvdevan unit fighter Sgt Ronen Lubarsky was killed. During the mourning period, we promised that we would find the terrorist who killed him. Today I would like to praise the IDF and the ISA for their very impressive operation”.
“It was a Duvdevan fighter who was killed, and it was the Duvdevan unit that apprehended the terrorist. We will continue to deal with whoever tries to attack, and attacks, Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers, to the fullest extent of the law”.
