“These Lebanese Shiite militia operatives were behind the attempt to attack Israel with killer drones and were killed when we foiled the attack.
Here they are pictured flying to Iran to receive drone-operation training”, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit tweeted.
Saturday night Israeli fighter jets and drones targeted Iranian-backed terrorists who were preparing to advance attack plans targeting sites in Israel from within Syria over the last days.
According to a London-based monitor, at least five Muslim terrorists were eliminated in the strikes, including two Hezbollah members, an IRGC terrorist and two others who were not immediately identified.
The IDF identified two of those eliminated as Lebanese nationals Hassan Yousef Zabeeb, 23, from the town of Nabatieh, and Yasser Ahmad Daher, 22, of Blida.
Zabeeb and Daher were working on behalf of Iran, under Qasem Soleimani, commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps’s al Quds Force who personally oversaw the training, funding, and preparation for the drone attack.
“The men who were killed spent time in Iran on a number of occasions in recent years. As part of their time in Iran, they went through specific training programs in the Quds Force on operating unmanned aerial vehicles and explosive drones,” the IDF said in a statement.
On Sunday, the IDF released surveillance footage of Iranian Quds Force terrorists in Syria carrying an explosive-laden drone that they intended to use for an attack on Israel.
“How do you foil an attack of killer drones? Killer intel”, the IDF tweeted.
During Nasrallah’s speech, a field commander in the Iranian-backed Hezbollah terror group was eliminated in a strike by an unidentified drone along a highway near the Syria-Iraq border.
Israeli fighter jets reportedly struck Hezbollah terror group positions overnight in the Beqaa Valley of Lebanon, according to Arab reports.
