IDF tanks target Assad military positions in the border town of Quneitra
Syrian media on Monday evening said that Israeli tanks shelled multiple Assad regime positions near the border town of Quneitra on the Golan Heights.
According to Syrian reports, the IDF shelled a hospital that was already destroyed and hit an observation post in the nearby Jubata Al-Khashab area. Damage was reported in Tel Adariya.
The IDF did not immediately confirm or deny responsibility for the strikes, stating that “per protocol, the IDF does not acknowledge foreign reports”.
UPDATE: Arabs report that the Israeli strikes in southern Syria killed two members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps and wounded 9 others.
A senior Revolutionary Guards commander threatened Monday that Iran would destroy cities in Israel to the ground if the United States attacked the Islamic Republic.
He was speaking at a rally celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Islamic revolution.
“I do not ignore the threats of the Iranian regime but neither am I intimidated by them. If this regime makes the awful mistake of trying to destroy Tel Aviv and Haifa, it will not succeed. However, this would be the last anniversary of the revolution that they celebrate. They should take this into account”, PM Netanyahu said Monday evening in a video statement.
