IDF naval forces arrest Muslim terrorist crossing maritime border with Egypt
IDF naval forces arrested a Muslim terrorist who attempted to invade Israel’s maritime border from Egypt. He was arrested near the crossing point and taken by security forces for questioning.
“IDF forces spotted this morning a suspect approaching the sea border from Egypt into Israel. A naval force arrested the suspect after he crossed the maritime border. He was turned over to security agencies for further investigation”, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said Saturday morning.
A misfired Egyptian army artillery shell landed Saturday morning near a synagogue in the southern Israel town of Bnei Netzarim, near the border with Egypt. The projectile caused minor damage to cars and a nearby building. No one was hurt.
The IDF said that the projectile was stray fire from the Egyptian army’s counter-terrorism operations against terror groups in northern Sinai.
Yesterday, ISIS terrorists carried out a large attack against Egyptian security forces stationed at a checkpoint in the northern Sinai Peninsula.
