Hamas claims responsibility for rockets launched at Israel – IDF jets attack Hamas terror targets in Gaza
Code Red sirens blared in several areas in Southern Israel on Tuesday night in the Eshkol Regional Council, the Hof Ashkelon Regional Council and the Ashkelon industrial zone in southern Israel.
The first alert blared through Kerem Shalom at 1:14 am. That one was followed by two more at 1:26 am in Yad Mordechai, Netiv HaAsara. Zikim, Karmia, Ashkelon Industrial Zone.
Additional sirens sounded at 02:33, 02:40, 2:48, 02:54 , as rockets range expanded to Central Negev.
Five launches were identified from Gaza towards Israeli territory.
“The Hamas terror organization is responsible for all events that transpire in and emanate from the Gaza Strip and will bear the consequences”, the IDF said in a statement.
The Izz a-Din al-Qassam military wing of the Hamas terror group claimed responsibility for the rocket barrage and released a statement saying basically that the terror group will respond with more terrorism and rocket attacks to Israeli strikes on its terror targets.
Earlier tonight, IAF fighter jets targeted three military targets in a Hamas compound in southern Gaza.
The strike was conducted in response to the repeated launching of incendiary kites and balloons with explosive devices attached to them from Gaza into Israeli territory.
“The IDF is prepared to continue operating with increased intensity and with various means in response to these terror attacks”, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said.
