Egypt: 19 ISIS terrorists eliminated after attack on Coptic Christians worshipers
Egyptian security forces eliminated 19 ISIS terrorists from a terror cell responsible for the shooting attack on Coptic Christian worshipers in Minya province in central Egypt which left seven people dead, the interior ministry said on Sunday.
The Muslim terrorists were eliminated in a firefight in the desert west of Minya province after security forces pursued them, the ministry said in a statement. It did not say when the firefight took place.
Seven people were murdered and 14 others were injured on Friday after Muslim terrorists opened fire on a bus carrying Coptic Christian worshipers heading to a monastery in Minya, about 270km south of Cairo.
The seven murdered included two women and five men. Six of the victims were from one family.
ISIS claimed responsibility for the terror attack.
Egypt’s Christian minority has been targeted by ISIS terrorists in a series of terror attacks since December 2016 that left more than 100 dead and scores wounded.
