DM Liberman warns Hamas terror group: The holidays are over

Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman sent a warning to Hamas on Friday morning, writing on his Twitter account that “the holidays are behind us, take that into account.”

“We’ve been through the High Holidays exactly as we planned, without a flare-up and by extracting a heavy price on the rioters along the Gaza border,” Liberman said, referring to the Muslim terrorists eliminated and injured by IDF troops during violent riots and infiltration attempts.

“The holidays are over, and I say to the heads of Hamas: ‘Take that into account,’” the Liberman wrote.

The IDF said it was reinforcing troops around Gaza on Thursday as a precaution against Muslim terrorists attempting to infiltrate into Israel during violent riots along the security border fence with Gaza.

“The Chief of the General Staff, Lt. Gen. Gadi Eisenkot and senior IDF and Shin Bet officials decided to implement wide-scale reinforcements in the Southern Command and to continue acting to thwart terror and infiltrations from Gaza. Hamas is responsible for Gaza and all that emanates from it”, the IDF said in a statement.

As part of the reinforcement of forces, the IDF deployed additional Iron Dome batteries in various areas in southern Israel.

Liberman instructed the IDF to maintain “maximum preparedness for any scenario,” according to his office.

IDF intel reportedly points to Hamas attempting a terror attack either through terror tunnels from Gaza or ‘naval commandos’ infiltrating from the sea in order to attack IDF forces and try to kidnap a soldier.
