Counter-terrorism operations in Judea-Samaria – Thousands pray at Tomb of the Patriarchs
The IDF arrested 10 Muslim terrorists overnight in Judea and Samaria, who were wanted for involvement in terrorism and violent disorders directed against civilians and security personnel.
The terrorists were turned over to security agencies for further investigation.
More than 15,000 Jewish worshipers arrived to pray at the Tomb of the Patriarchs in Hevron for the Ten Days of Repentance.
“Security forces, have increased security level for this period of time, to allow the prayers to be held securely without incident,” the IDF Spokesperson said.
About 1,500 worshipers prayed at the tomb of the biblical figure Joseph and the surrounding compound in Shechem on Monday evening.
The IDF, in cooperation with Border Police and Police, secured the entry of the worshipers.
IDF forces in cooperation with Shin Bet and Border Police mapped the house of the Muslim terrorist who murdered Israeli hero Ari Fuld, in the terror nest of Yatta near Hevron, and interrogated his relatives in order to figure out whether they had any prior knowledge regarding his intentions to carry out a terror attack.
The IDF also confiscated sensitive materials they found inside the house in order to aid the investigation.
