Counter-terrorism operations in Judea-Samaria – 1,450 pray at biblical Joseph’s Tomb

The IDF arrested 11 Muslim terrorists overnight in Judea and Samaria, who were wanted for involvement in terrorism and violent disorders directed against civilians and security personnel.

The terrorists were turned over to security agencies for further investigation.

As part of an ongoing campaign against illegal weapons, IDF troops and Israel Police discovered an M-16 machine gun, cartridges, ammunition clips, a knife and binoculars in the Arab village of Idhna in the Hevron area. A 20-year-old terrorist resident of the Palestinian Authority was arrested.

Overnight, the IDF, Border Police and the Civil Administration for Judea and Samaria secured the entry of 1,450 Jewish worshipers to biblical Joseph’s Tomb in Shechem.

The prayer took place without exceptional incidents but violent riots broke out at the entrance to the city. Muslim terrorists threw rocks, firebombs and fireworks at the troops.

The IDF responded with riot dispersal methods.
