Iran threatens to ‘raze Tel Aviv and Haifa to the ground’ if attacked by the US
A senior Revolutionary Guards commander threatened Monday that Iran would destroy cities in Israel to the ground if the United States attacked the Islamic Republic.
“The United States does not have the courage to shoot a single bullet at us despite all its defensive and military assets. But if they attack us, we will raze Tel Aviv and Haifa to the ground,” Yadollah Javani, the Guards’ deputy head for political affairs was quoted as saying by state news agency IRNA.
He was speaking at a rally celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Islamic revolution.
“I do not ignore the threats of the Iranian regime but neither am I intimidated by them. If this regime makes the awful mistake of trying to destroy Tel Aviv and Haifa, it will not succeed. However, this would be the last anniversary of the revolution that they celebrate. They should take this into account”, PM Netanyahu said Monday evening in a video statement.
“In Iran today they are marking 40 years since the Islamic revolution and are trying to boast about the new missile. Iran openly declares its intention to destroy the State of Israel”, Netanyahu said last week.
“I have a clear message to the tyrants of Tehran: We know what you are doing and where you are doing it. We will continue to take action against Iran with all the tools at our disposal in order to ensure the security and future of Israel”, he added.
