Ahead of the elections for the 21st Knesset on April 9, the far-left Balad party, whose Israeli Arab MKs love to hate Israel despite being elected to the Knesset, met on Saturday in the northern city of Nazareth.
At the beginning of the meeting, voters, Knesset Members and party activists sang the PLO terror group anthem “Mawtini”, which means ‘My Homeland’.
Written by the Arab poet Ibrahim Tuqan in 1934 and adopted as Iraq’s national anthem in 2004, the song was Arafat’s PLO terror group anthem during the 1990s.
Arab MK Ayman Odeh was re-elected on Friday to head the Hadash party.
Officials in Hadash and the other two Arab Israeli far-left factions of Israeli haters currently united under the banner of the Joint (Arab) List, Balad and Ra’am, are still deliberating whether to continue working together, after the Ta’al party, headed by MK Ahmad Tibi, announced it would be running separately in the elections.
MKs Ahmed Tibi, Taleb Abu Gharar, Masud Ghnaim, and Osama Saadi are expected to meet with Turkish President Erdogan and request he release three Israeli Arabs who flew to Turkey for kidney transplants and were arrested for violating local laws.
