France – Terror at Christmas market: Muslim terrorist on watch list escaped in hijacked taxi after murdering 3
Authorities have identified the Muslim terrorist who murdered at least three people and critically injured 12 others at a famous Christmas market in the French city of Strasbourg. One of the killed was described as a Thai tourist who had been shot in the head.
A desperate manhunt is underway for the Muslim terrorist, identified as a 29-year-old male on a terrorist watch list who was known to authorities for radicalization. He was due to be arrested on Tuesday morning for a previous robbery but was not at home when police arrived to arrest him.
Terror cops and soldiers cornered the terrorist in a shop after the shooting attack – but he slipped through their fingers by hijacking a taxi at gunpoint after been injured in a shootout.
The terrorist was identified by DNA and CCTV images. Reports said grenades were discovered at him home.
The driver of the hijacked taxi, who managed to escape unharmed, told police that the terrorist was injured during his escape.
France has raised its threat level to ‘attack emergency’ – its highest level – after the shooting attack.
Mayor of Strasbourg Roland Ries said the Muslim terrorist carried out the attack inside a “security zone” surrounding the market in Place Kleber.
Shortly after the terror attack, ISIS-affiliated media Al-Taqwa released a propaganda poster. “The era of surprises has begun” the poster reads praising the terror attack and threatening with more mass murders: “Soon in your holidays”.
