Netanyahu: Abhorrent terrorists tried to murder a mother and the baby in her womb

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recalled Monday the terror attack last night in which Muslim terrorists shot at a bus stop near the Jewish community of Ofra.

“We are all praying for the wellbeing of the wounded from last night’s terrorist attack in Ofra. We support the doctors who are fighting for the baby’s life. Abhorrent terrorists tried to murder a mother and the baby in her womb. This is monstrous”.

“There are cries of joy by Palestinians. I think it is too much to expect a condemnation from the Palestinian Authority. They only contribute to incitement. The Shin Bet and IDF are pursuing the murderers and will capture them”.

A total of seven Israelis were wounded on Sunday night after Muslim terrorists opened fire at a group of Jews who were lighting Hanukkah candles in memory of a car accident victim at a bus stop near Ofra Junction.

A 21-year-old pregnant woman lost a lot of blood after being hit in her lower abdomen and pelvis. She was rushed to Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem, where Doctors performed an emergency caesarian section in an attempt to save the life of the unborn child.

The condition of the baby deteriorated and is fighting for his life, doctors reported Monday.

Hamas welcomed the shooting attack:  “The shooting was in response to ongoing attacks carried out against our people … It indicates that resistance  [Muslim terrorism] is still present in Judea and Samaria despite attempts to thwart it,” the terror group said in a statement.

Violent riots broke up Monday afternoon in Ramallah as IDF soldiers, Border Police and security forces continue to search Arab villages and cities in the area of Samaria and Binyamin Regional Division.

The IDF responded with riot dispersal methods.
