IDF censor calls on Israelis not to share information about special forces raid inside Gaza
In an unusual move, the IDF censor called on Israelis not to share any information they have about the November 11 special forces raid inside Gaza after Hamas publishes pictures purporting to be of the soldiers involved in the mission.
“Hamas is currently trying to decipher and understand the incident that took place deep in Gaza (11/11) and any item of information, even if it is considered harmless by its publicizers, could endanger human life and harm state security,” the statement said.
“Regardless of the credibility of the information published by Hamas, we ask you to refrain from expanding the publication of pictures, personally identifiable information or other personal information that you have received in the media, social networks, Whatsapp groups, and any other media platform,” she said.
The announcement is a highly irregular move by the IDF censor, which typically refrains from making public comments.
Most details of the operation could not be published by order of the IDF censor.
IDF Special Forces entered 2 miles into Gaza in a civilian vehicle on November 11, as a part of an undercover mission.
The force was exposed and an exchange of fire erupted while an Israeli aircraft accompanied the ground forces.
At least seven Muslim terrorists, including a Hamas leader in the Khan Yunis area, were eliminated after a heavy fire exchange. All the eliminated terrorists were part of the Hamas terror group armed wing Izz ad-Din al-Qassam, whose sole mission is to murder Jews.
The raid led to an unprecedented barrage of rockets from Gaza towards southern Israel, that ended in a ceasefire between Israel and the terror group.
