Israeli fighter jets bombed 8 Hamas terror targets after rocket attack from Gaza
The IDF bombed eight Hamas terror group targets in three different military compounds in Gaza late Wednesday night following the firing of a rocket into southern Israel.
Rocket sirens sounded in the southern Israeli regional councils of Merhavim and Eshkol near the Gaza border late on Wednesday evening. Residents in the communities reported hearing explosions. No casualties were reported as investigations continue.
The IDF said that the Iron Dome missile defense systems was activated and attempted to intercept a rocket fired from Gaza, but failed to do so.
Factions of all terror groups in Gaza abandoned their positions as Israeli warplanes entered the airspace in preparation for retaliatory strikes.
The targets struck include a terror compound in northern Gaza, a terror training base and a weapon production and storage site in southern Gaza.

The IDF said it held the Hamas terror group responsible for everything happening in and out of Gaza, regardless of which terror group specifically launched the rockets.
Hamas will “bear the consequences for the terrorist acts carried out against the citizens of Israel,” the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said in a statement.
Hamas ruled Gaza Health Ministry says no injuries reported in the airstrikes.
Currently, all crossing points to Gaza from Israel remain open, and Qatari-paid fuel continues to be transferred, despite the rocket attack and continued firebomb-balloon attacks.
