16 wanted terrorists arrested – Muslim terrorist eliminated during riots near Jenin
The IDF arrested 16 Muslim terrorists overnight in Judea and Samaria, who were wanted for involvement in terrorism and violent disorders directed against civilians and security personnel.
The terrorists were turned over to security agencies for further investigation.
Violent riots broke out during a counter-terrorism operation in the Arab village of Tammun near Jenin, with Muslim terrorists throwing rocks and attacking the forces operating in the area.
The troops responded with tear gas and rubber bullets in accordance with the rules of engagement, including fire at main terrorists.
A 23-year-old Muslim terrorist was shot and eliminated by IDF forces and three terrorists were serious to moderately injured during the riots. Another 5 were injured by tear gas inhalation.
IDF troops operated overnight in the Tulkarem area as the manhunt continues for the Muslim terrorist who murdered Ziv Hagbi and Kim Levengrond Yehezkel at the Barkan industrial area in Samaria.
Several Muslim terrorists suspected of assisting the Barkan terrorist were arrested during the operation.
One of the arrests, which was done by undercover forces, constitutes a significant development in the investigation into the terror attack.
The IDF and Border Police said that during the arrest, forces opened fire at the home of a terrorist who was feared to be armed.
