An air strike near a US base in southeastern Syria near the borders with Iraq and Jordan has killed at least eight pro-Assad troops, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported Monday.
Four Syrians, one Iranian national and three other non-Syrian soldiers were among the casualties of the strike carried out on Saturday, the war monitor said.
The Syrian Human Rights Center reported early Sunday that Israel was behind an attack on a military airbase in Damascus. Troops were injured and killed as a result.

Israel has previously acknowledged having carried out air strikes in Syria aimed at degrading the capacity of Iran and its allies, including Lebanon’s Shi’ite Hezbollah terror group, which are backing Assad in the country’s seven-year civil war.
