3 Israel haters arrested during attempted provocation tour in the Hevron Hills
Israeli Border Police on Friday arrested three Israel haters members of the ultra-leftist-anarchist organization Breaking the Silence, near the Jewish community of Mitzpe Yair, in the Hevron Hills area.
Breaking the Silence, an anti-Israel organization that collects and publishes anonymous testimonies purportedly given by IDF veterans to present Israel and the IDF in a bad light was recently banned from entering schools.
The Breaking the Silence’s executive director, Avner Gvaryahu, and communications director, Achiya Schatz, were arrested and taken in for questioning by the Border Police. Attorney Michael Sfard was also arrested for questioning.
The three were later released from detention on Friday afternoon after spending a total of three hours in questioning.
Police said that the three were detained because the tour group of Israel haters they guided had entered a closed military area. The ban on the presence of civilians is not enforced for local residents.
The military order designating the area as a sealed-off zone was signed Friday morning and was meant to prevent the provocation tour.
