Last Tuesday, the Tunisian authorities announced the recent arrest of two Muslim terrorists in the eastern province of Sousse, according to an Interior Ministry statement.
The statement, which was published on the ministry’s website, said a counter-terrorism operation — which took place last week — had targeted two people suspected of planning terrorist attacks.
“The two individuals, aged 19 and 21, follow the ideology of the ISIS terrorist group,” the ministry statement read.
It went on to say that an analysis of their electronic devices had shown that they were in contact with “terrorist elements” in both Syria and Libya and had received training in making explosives.
