Cleared for publication: Stabbing attack thwarted in Jerusalem
The Jerusalem District Police thwarted a planned stabbing attack against Israeli citizens and security forces last week, the police spokesperson released for publication on Wednesday.
According to the police spokesperson, on August 8 alert police officers in the Old City noticed a suspicious Arab.
Upon searching him, they found that he was a 26-year-old Muslim resident of Hevron who was carrying a knife and a tear gas canister.
During the initial interrogation, the Muslim terrorist claimed that he entered Israel in order to “pray.”
Later, was found to have entered Israel illegally and admitted he was planning to carry out a stabbing attack in order to murder Jews.
