Sirens sounded in southern Israel – IDF bombs 7 Hamas posts in Gaza in response to shooting attack
Muslim terrorists fired at IDF soldiers in southern Gaza Strip. An IDF soldier was lightly wounded in the shooting attack.
In response, the IDF targeted 7 Hamas military posts in Gaza. Three Muslim terrorists were eliminated and another was critically wounded in the retaliatory attack.
Approximately one hour later, a Code Red alert siren was sounded in the Hof Ashkelon Regional Council.
Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman convened a special security meeting in the Kirya Headquarters in Tel Aviv to discuss the situation with IDF senior officials.
“A Palestinian sniper in Gaza fired at IDF troops under the cover of 20 children that were sent towards the border fence as decoy. This is the second sniper attack against the IDF in a week. IDF retaliated against Hamas positions”, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said in a statement.
The shooting attack occurred in the Kissufim area where IDF soldier Staff Sgt. Aviv Levi was murdered by a Hamas sniper on Friday afternoon.
The sniper fire led to a retaliatory strike by the IDF that killed at least 4 Hamas terrorists.
