Banned: BDS ‘activist’ who loves to hate Israel, denied entry to Israel

“The rules have changed, and like every normal country, Israel will not remain silent in the face of those who attempt to harm us.”

Israel’s Interior Minister Aryeh Deri prevented the entry of Ana Sánchez Mera, the coordinator of the BNC organization in Europe and the director of its international anti-Israel campaigns.

Deri’s office said that the BNC, which is based in Ramallah, is one of the world’s most dominant boycott organizations, which consistently calls for the boycott of Israel.

Strategic Affairs Minister Gilad Erdan said that “anyone who acts to promote boycotts against Israel has nothing to look for here. The rules have changed, and like any normal country, Israel will not restrain itself against those who try to harm it and its citizens. Key activists in the organization who are acting as a snake head in order to sow destruction and deepen the gaps between the sides are not welcome here.”

Last week, Interior Minister Aryeh Deri and Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan prevented the entry of a BDS activist from the Netherlands, in light of her participation in efforts to boycott Israel.

“The rules have changed, and like every normal country, Israel will not remain silent in the face of those who attempt to harm us,” Erdan said.
