Israel closes humanitarian border crossing with Gaza after Muslim terrorists vandalized, set it ablaze

Due to the destruction and burning of the Kerem Shalom humanitarian crossing on the Gaza side last night by dozens of violent Muslim terrorists under the auspices of the Hamas terror organization, Minister of Defense Avigdor Liberman, approved the IDF and COGAT, Maj. Gen. Kamil Abu Rokon’s recommendation to close the Kerem Shalom humanitarian crossing from tomorrow (Sunday, May 13th) until further notice.

The crossing will be open for humanitarian cases approved on a case-by-case basis only.

The crossing will remain closed until the damages caused by the riots are repaired and will reopen in accordance with a situation assessment.

Representatives of the Border Crossing Authority, members of the Southern Command and the Kerem Shalom Crossing operators toured the area of the fire Saturday to estimate the scope of the arson, estimating the damage done at tens of millions of shekels.

They were to decide whether the crossing, the strip’s main cargo crossing with Israel, should remain temporarily closed, with the coming Tuesday, Nakba Day, being considered as the day of its reopening.

Earlier today, dozens of Hamas-sponsored terrorists vandalized the Gaza side of the Kerem Shalom humanitarian crossing. Once again, they damaged the pipelines that supply Gaza residents with gas. Remember that when Hamas will say that there's a gas shortage in Gaza.

“We were amazed at the destruction and devastation left by the Palestinians. They are simply bringing disaster upon themselves,” one official from the touring team told Ynet.

The Hamas terror organization, which in recent weeks has been carrying out terrorist attacks in the guise of riots, is harming the well-being of Gazans and paralyzing their ability to go about their daily lives.

Israel and many countries around the world work to deliver goods such as food, equipment and fuel to Gaza’s citizens, initiatives which are prevented by the Hamas terror organization’s actions.

The Hamas terror organization is responsible for everything that happens in Gaza, both above and below the ground, and will bear the consequences for its actions.

The following are details of the damage caused at the Kerem Shalom humanitarian crossing:

● The fuel terminal has been rendered totally unusable.
