Hamas promises more “surprises” for Israel during Ramadan

A Hamas spokesman Hussam Badran says the Tel Aviv attack is just the first surprise awaiting Israel during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

He praised the perpetrators of the attack, and said the fact they were able to strike at the heart of Israel, next to the defense ministry and Kirya compound is proof of Israel’s failure in breaking the spirit of resistance and burying the intifada.

He said the attack was intended to send a message to the Israeli leadership, and in particular, its defense minister Liberman, that despite his past threats he ‘will not succeed in breaking our fortitude’, in his words.

A Hamas media outlet shared a photo of a traditional Palestinian Ramadan treat being stuffed with a bullet with the caption “Tel Aviv operation.”

Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh called the injured terrorist a “hero” and said he was praying for his soul.

Hamas issued a statement early Thursday declaring that the two terrorists responsible for Wednesday’s attack in Tel Aviv are Hamas terrorists.

The two, relatives from the village of Yatta in Hevron, were illegally residing in Israel.

The IDF raided the home of one of the terrorists and interrogated the family.

Netanyahu visited the scene of the attack, accompanied by the defense minister, Avigdor Lieberman, and public security minister, Gilad Erdan and said discussions will be held on both offensive and defensive actions to deal with the serious phenomenon of shooting attacks. We are in the midst of a complex period and we will act forcefully and intelligently, the prime minister said.
