Security Services Preparing for Palestinian ‘Day of Rage’
The entrance road to the eastern Jerusalem neighborhoods of Umm Tuba and Sur Baher were completely blocked last night (Thursday). The move came as a result of the recent Cabinet decision to allow police to surround the neighborhoods at its discretion.
Police and the IDF are preparing to deal with the “Day of Rage” that Hamas and Fatah declared for today (Friday).
Shortly before this morning’s prayers on the Temple Mount, Israeli police announced that only men aged 40 and older will be allowed to enter the compound, along with women of all ages. Police will also continue to work with combined forces across Jerusalem, with an emphasis on the surrounding neighborhoods, alleys inside the Old City, and routes taken by worshippers at the Kotel and the Temple Mount.
