Ma’ale Adumim ax terrorist arrested, victim’s life still in danger
Israeli Security Forces on Sunday arrested the Arab terrorist behind the attack of a security guard in Ma’ale Adumim’s mall.
Police received a call at 1:15 a.m. on Friday regarding the victim. The forces that arrived at the mall found Tzvika Cohen, 48, lying on the floor with multiple stab wounds.
A security video that was circulated late Saturday showed the terrorist striking Cohen multiple times near the mall’s elevator doors.
Hadassah University Medical Center in Jerusalem’s Ein Kerem. Cohen, a father of four, is in serious condition in the hospital’s critical care unit. His family is scheduled to celebrate a Bar Mitzvah in a few weeks.
The terrorist, 21-year-old Saadi Ali Abu Hammad was an employee at the mall where the attack took place, it has been revealed. He was arrested as the result of a joint operation between the Shin Bet, the Judea and Samaria police and the IDF.
The Shin Bet said that during the initial investigation the terrorist made statements that implicated himself in the attack.
He is a resident of the Arab village of Azariya, that is located just outside of both Ma’ale Adumim and Jerusalem.
Ma’ale Adumim Mayor Benny Kashriel said the incident marks the first time a terror attack has occurred within the city of 37,400 people.
Judea and Samaria police have banned Palestinian workers from entering the city until Thursday, but they will be allowed to go to work adjacent Mishor Adumim Industrial Park.
