Dafna Meir’s neighbors: Arab worker waited – then killed her
Neighbors of Dafna Meir, who was brutally stabbed to death in her home in Otniel on Sunday evening, claim that a Palestinian Arab construction worker employed at a nearby site is responsible for her murder.
According to the family who lives near Meir, one of the workers lingered at the end of the work day, recognized the mother of six, and then attacked her.
An investigation into the incident revealed that Meir opened her front door to the terrorist while three of her children were inside.
The terrorist stabbed her and a struggled developed during which Meir attempted to shut the door several times before finally succeeding. The terrorist subsequently fled.
Magen David Adom medics who were called to the scene declared her death after several failed resuscitation attempts.
Renana, Meir’s 17-year-old daughter, described the horrifying event details to a close family friend: “I saw the terrorist stab my mother and my mother struggled with all her might so he would not come into the house and hurt us.”
“At one point, the knife got stuck and the terrorist could not get it. Our eyes met. He looked at me, and I at him. He kept trying to pull out the knife and it was clear to me he wanted to come and hurt me too.”
A family friend added: “Renana was screaming at the terrorist and when he failed to retrieve the stuck knife, he ran away. She continued screamimg and saw him running away toward the exit path from the town.”
The terrorist has yet to be captured and security forces continue to search for him.
