Bennett: Abbas Just Another Terrorist in the Annals of History

Israeli Education Minister and Jewish Home party leader Naftali Bennett slammed Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas’s speech to the UN General Assembly Wednesday, in with Abbas attacked Israel and announced the PA would no longer be bound by the Oslo Accords.

“Abu Mazen has returned to his good old days as a holocaust denier,” Bennett said, referring to Abbas by his nickname and referencing his infamous thesis in which he denied the scale of the holocaust and claimed the genocide was part of a “Zionist conspiracy.”

Bennett accused Abbas of “rewriting history again” in his speech, “calling to release from prison the murderers of Jewish women, men and children, who just ‘want to see their families,’ in his words.

“At a time when Europe is dealing with a wave of refugees, the Middle East is burning and falling apart, Abu Mazen, too, will pass and be remembered as (just) another terrorist in the annals of history – and not even one of the successful ones,” Bennett continued, before concluding with the words “Am Yisrael Chai (the nation of Israel lives.)”

In his inflammatory speech, Abbas compared Israel to both apartheid South Africa and Nazi Germany, and declared that the Palestinian Authority would no longer consider itself bound by the 1994 Oslo Accords, as long as Israel continued to build “settlements” and release imprisoned Palestinian terrorists.
